There are 3 main reasons you should consider country dancing for your students
#1 It provides a better value for your dancers
The events are typically cheaper than ballroom events. The per dance entry is lower and the weekend pass includes entries to all of the weekend activities. The lower event costs make it more affordable to more people. You don't have to be rich to country dance 😉
There are workshops for all levels, real social dance breaks during competition as well a LOTS of social dancing in the evening. Sometimes till as late as 4am
#2 It's less 'competitive' than ballroom
It's not that we don't take competition seriously but the level of dancing allows for less than 'elite' professionals and students to do well. Plus with the build in social environment competitors are very often friends thought the weekend and during the year. It has an AWESOME family feel!Â
#3 We have a world championship
The organizations require at least 3 events to qualify you for 'worlds'. This means you have a built in 4 events for your students to attend. It's the culture to want to dance qualifying events during the year to work towards the world championships. This creates a build in reason why students should dance several competitions during the year. Plus your students get to have the opportunity to be world champions in their divisions. How cool is that?
